Intravenous therapy

Accessoires for infusion and
transfusion therapy

Stopcocks are used to control directional flow of infusate or drugs to the patient or for access to blood sampling. It enables the administration of one or more infusion solutions or drugs to a patient's vascular system. Stopcocks can be used with gravity infusion sets, pumps or syringes. MEDIPRIM standard stopcock systems operate as a three-way mechanisms. STOPCOCKprim connects two lines of fluids to a patient and provides a mechanism that allows one of two fluid streams to run to the patient. STOPCOCKprim are lipid-resistant and compatible with chemotherapy, cytostatics and anaesthesia medication.

STOPCOCKprim Standard 3-way stopcocks
Three-way stopcock, with male Luer-Lock connectors for safe infusion. For easy control of infusion flow: transparent polycarbonate channel and an arrow symbol showing flow direction. Available in white, red and blue colours for easy differentiation.

STOPCOCKprim Standard 3-way stopcocks with extension lines
3-way stopcocks with extension lines consists of a 3 way stopcock with extension lines having varying length from 10 cm to 150 cm.

CAPSprim Male Luer-Lock cap
for locking of IV catheters

CAPSprim non-injectable Luer-Lock caps have standard male Luer-Lock fitting to lock female Luer-Slip connectors. These plugs are non-vented and do not have an access port. Available in white and red colours for easy differentiation.

CAPSprim Needleless caps
for locking of IV catheters

CAPSprim needleless caps are fitted with two latex-free overlapping membranes, which can be penetrated without a needle. They significantly decrease the risk of injuries to medical personnel. A clear housing provides easy visualisation of the fluid path and therefore enables easy priming, disinfection and flushing. CAPSprim needleless caps have the standard male Luer-Lock fitting to lock female Luer adapters.

CAPSprim+ Heparin cap
with injection site

A heparin cap is a type of intermittent intravenous device attachable to IV catheters through which some medication can be administered to the vein. The heparin cap is fitted with a latex-free entry site (membrane), which can be penetrated many times. Heparin caps do not contain heparin (anticoagulant). When the IV catheter is not in use, some heparin will be injected through the membrane to keep the blood from clotting. Approximate priming volume 0.1 ml. Use of heparin caps prolongs the life period of IV catheters, reduces the expenses for patients and decreases the working time of personnel.
